How do you weather a snowstorm when you’ve packed very lightly? Layer, layer, layer. I’m not the best packer in the world because I tend to over pack or under pack to the extremes. As I was preparing for my trip to New York for the IFB Conference, I tried to methodically pick out outfits without trying to over pack. But I was already at the tail end of my trip and down to only a few pieces when gasp…Snowstorm Nemo hit.

Thank goodness for my boots. Although they’re not entirely waterproof and I was tempted at times to go ahead and just buy snow boots, they got me through frolicking around the city as Nemo snowed down on us.
